Took the neighbor kid out today. He’s fished a few times with us and has been a pleasure. We fished the main channel of the Cooper and some creeks, and through a cold, windy day pieced together a decent outing.
The rookie stole the day with a February slam, capped by a 19.5" trout! He was a redfish shy of a double slam! All fish caught on MM/jighead combo.
My boy kicked us off with a keeper trout.
Flounder
Redfish
BIG BOY trout!
Me with a Cooper River classic!
My buddy with a nice red
The boys with Sunday dinner!
Wind bit hard but the day was a treat! Hope ya’ll tore 'em up!
Nice fish guys…. Way to get out there on a crappy day. My six year old son and I down here in Beaufort hooked up and headed to the ramp but I thought it was gonna be a lil to much for the lil guy. (he’s battling a lil cold too) But i think the winds will be down a lil tomorrow. Gonna give it another try. Nice report. Come visit us over on the Beaufort/HH forum sometime. Fish On!!!
You’re a good Dad, Vinn. Your boy will always remember those trips. My Dad hung onto a many of branch keeping the boat where my brother and I could clean out a bream bed. Good times.
