Killed it today...

Took a client to the Wando for some low tide fishing. We hit the water just after sunrise and started throwing topwater looking for trout and reds. We had a couple of blowups, but no hookups, so we changed to subsurface plus shrimp under a popping cork as we continued to drift with the tide.

Started slow for the first hour or so, but once the tide got really low, the bite got hot.

1 trout - maybe legal / probably not
Stopped counting reds after 15 came to hand and they kept biting for another hour and a half. Somewhere around 20-25 reds, mostly in the slot, 4 over slot, none under slot.

Water - mid 70’s and stained
Visibility to 3 feet
LOTS of boat traffic

no real pattern for a hot bait today, they ate everything. Shrimp, mullet, mud minnows, crab, baby pinfish… you name it. they nailed it.

Short clip from today.

Felt bad for a family that anchored beside us. We slayed 'em, they never hooked up. [:I]

Now time to start editing video

Wow, sounds like a great day. Came down and piddled (fished a bit, talked and had a few beverages) a bit Thursday with a couple of friends and then off shored it Friday (my first time) and had a blast. Glad you had a good day, don’t catch all of the fish before I can get back down there.

Great report, and nice fish. Thanks for sharing.

fish nude so u can show off ur pole…

So what do you think the family was doing different then you guys?

They didn’t try to move to find fish. We worked a lot of river before we set up where we did. Once we found fish we didn’t just put baits in one spot and forget them.
