Robert, how deep are you fishing. Livies on ballons? cut menhaden on bottom?
Live menhaden, on surface slow trolling and downrigger down half way in water column. No ballons just free-lined behind boat

While studying at c of c, i worked for Captain Ivan. I think he is one of the best king fisherman around. He had a temper though. Trying to throw 9 feet of cast net over a 4 foot bow rail is a blast! But thats what we would do. Chum bag, then ballons in the slick. He would cut the motor and fish over live bottom. This way the folks could catch bottom fish unill we heard the real screem. Depending on time of year, sometimes we would slow troll, but mostly live menhadden on ballons and cut bait on bottom. Had a tiger shark that had to be 15 feet eat that chum bag one day.
I finnished school at C of C, i went to bama though for 4 years, hence my bama avatar
Anyone been seeing king relatively shallow yet?
