Anyone hear anything about the Coast Guard call yesterday on the Kingfisher? They were requesting boats to be on the lookout, about 38 miles southeast of Charleston. I was out 30 miles and saw one vessel heading out but did not see anything after it was out of sight.
It was a commercial grouper/snapper boat out of Murrells Inlet that was disabled due to a fuel related issue. They activated their EPIRB to notify that they were dead in the water because they couldn’t get their satellite phone to work and their VHF wasn’t transmitting properly. The Coast Guard responded and assisted them back to port safely.
