Kings all over on thurs

Went trolling deep on the ledge thurs morning and didnt do much. as soon as we came back in to 110’ we started burning up the kings all the way back to when we pulled lines in 72’. Boated 4 while tryin to catch dolphin and hoo including a big 42# slob. It wouldve been nice to catch him in a tourney. We drove through a pile of kings and spanish in the shipping channel on the way in but the fish box was full and all arms were tired and ready for a cold one at the dock.

Capt Dan: I don’t remember if you got involved with that thread from Phin about his Furuno showing the type and species of fish, but I did twice. I know why you said you saw a pile of kings in the channel, others may want to question that, but I think it’s easy to tell kings on the scope, compared to other species. Thanks for the channel report, and the other; maybe you could email the location of those fish to me soon, my boat is in the shop, but I hope to have a ride next Sunday to the channel out to the 60 reef, for kings, cuda, sharks, etc. for a fun trip, not a meat trip necessarily. I’m assuming you fish the ledge, and don’t normally go after kings?

Look for the birds outside the jettys. You will find em.

Mac Daddy,
The kings were right outside the rocks around the second bouy. There were birds on them as jws said but we were marking bait balls with lots of big fish on the edge of them on the Garmin. I was not involved in the previous thread about idenifying species on the finder but kings are pretty easy to call when they are all over the schools of bait in the channel. Plain and simple i fish whenever for whatever i can. I love to fish for kings and have quite a bit of experience with them but when the weather permits I would rather troll on the bluewater. Good luck on them mercury missles!
