well i got my orders and within a couple weeks ill be going home then transferring to kings bay, georgia. once i get everything squared away and have time to fish is that area any good? looks like theres plenty of inshore creeks to paddle around and im sure i could find a spot or 2 on fernandina beach to surf fish. anyone ever fish that area or know of people who have?
Heck yes, it a good area to fish. As good as Charleston, better some days, worse others, inshore and offshore. Check out http://www.coastaloutdoors.com/ibf/index.php?act=idx
It is not as active as this forum but they have a lot of members in that area. Fishing is good ![]()

Ferdandina and new smryna (sp) they catch a lot of bull reds snook and tarpon in the surf. With your yak I think it shoulrnt be a problem. Looks like an awesome place!
Since you like surf fishin the cool thing about Fernandina is you can drive on the beach if you have 4x4 dont need a beach cart and all that. You are close to St Simons Island and Jekyll also. Shark fishing like crazy all nighters on the pier in St. Simons huge sharks. Try East Beach on the Sandbars too. Jacksonville pier has big kings.
i have a 4x4 F-150 so that would be amazing to drive instead of carry all my stuff!!! i may have to take a crack at a pier that has legit kings too. tried it on folly a few tiems and had fun bsing with the other guys there but i know that single digit kings for the year out of all those people my chances are slim to none for a king. looks like i picked the right base!
