kings/spanish near the beach?

I’m looking to take the wife and kids out for some nearshore action on my 23wa, only problem is I seem to only be any good offshore. Wondering if any kings or spanish are being seen close… or any ideas on how to get them some action.

thanks in advance

I used to fish for them off of Folly Beach dragging Clark Spoons. It has been a few years but I don’t think that I went till later in the summer. It is not uncommon to see them in the inlets either. Spanish would be fun for the kids since you don’t have to use your heavy weight offshore rods for the Spanish unless you really want to.

Narcosis

ive seen the normal… lizardfish, jack crevalle, and some blues but no quality fish for the table

September&October they’ll be close but the last couple of years haven’t been real good, or at least not for me fishing out of N.Edisto

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

Sunday i had small spanish jumping all around the boat at capers…
