Gonna try to do some nearshore king fishing this year out of winyah, had a buddy show me how to tie up the rigs but I’m fairly new to targeting strictly mackerel so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Live bottom, live bait slow trolling for larger fish. Dead bait for snakes and occasionally a bigger fish. It isn’t tough to catch them when they are here, if you are trying to tournament fish, that is a whole different story.
Patience!!! They have not shown up in big numbers except in the fall in the past 2-3 years.

If you don’t want to go too far…Tide Line… per an illustrious local captain, it’s ok to fish the dark side
