Anybody ever fished the pond in front of the Embassy Suites?
I’m on a weekend getaway with the family and my mom and dad and have been given permission by the boss to fish while we’re here. The surf looks pretty rough, but the pond is calling my name.
I might try some topwater in the surf tonight and tomorrow morning if the wind will calm down, but it doesn’t look like that’s in the forecast.

GO FOR IT…
I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth” to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I think I’m going fishing…!!
I was out in the surf with my son this afternoon, dragging him out and sending him toward shore on a boogie board over and over, and I saw more bait in the surf than I’ve ever seen before.
That’s exciting!

I was too busy having family fun last night and forgot about fishing. Weird, I know.
I got up early with my dad and we went out looking for fish this morning. I was throwing a Badonk-a-donk. My dad was throwing my lucky topwater spook.
I got a largemouth bass in the pond. My dad got a lot of blow ups, but no hook ups.
We moved over to the surf after pond fishing for about an hour. I got a good hookup for a few seconds before the hooks pulled.
There were thousands of mullet cruising south in the surf. There were tons of menhaden flipping like crazy just past the breakers.
I’m gonna have to do some surf fishing next weekend back home in Charleston!
