Took off my 19M (13.75x19 Black Steel Yamaha) which was producing about 44-46ph and 5400-5500 rpms with a full load (2 guys, l/w full, 3/4 gas, gear).
Got a hold of a Stiletto 14.25x17. Thought this would raise rpms at least 200-300. The Stiletto had much better lift, better hole shot (its ported too) and much more responsive in mid-range. Problem is its running about the same speed and rpms. I have not run it light but coming in yesterday with 2 guys it was 5600 rpms and 46 mph fully trimmed.

Want to get up in that 6000rpm range loaded. I don’t run this like a performance bass boat since it is not fast no matter what we do. So I am not looking to spend a fortune here and in fact will try to find something used if I can. Looking for suggestions on what to buy?
Did you do both tests against/with the current? That can matter just a little I’ve found.
The higher diameter of the stiletto is why your RPM’s didn’t go up, but you had better acceleration and midrange. It sounds to me like you have the right prop right now. You could do better, but it’s really hard to get the performance in the hole shot, mid range, and top end all at once. If you get two of the three, then you’re doing pretty good I think. And it seems to me that it’s rare to get all three. Always a trade off.
I would stick where you are if I were you…
5600 WOT with a load is not bad at all. You’ll probably be around 5800 or 5900 light.
You don’t want to ever be touching or rev limiting at 6000 unless you’re racing somebody…
due to the much greater cup in a stiletto, it performs like the next size up prop
the increased cup produces more bow lift.
you are within the approved rpm range, but at teh bottom of the scale
you want to be as close to 6000 as possible with average load.
if you run most of the time light, then prop for that, if not, prop for what you normal carry.
I run with this load most of the time - 2 guys, full tackle, water in at least one well, etc. So if I want 200-300 rpms what prop would be the recommendation to try?
