KW230BR, 2014.
Moving Port/Starboard lights from top of bow to rub rails. Need the space for trolling motor.
1/2" hole in rubrail 4’ from center of bow.
ISSUE: the rod storage tubes are in the way I have a #10 wire to snake thru, but it stops - hung on the deck molding(where it hangs down) and the tubes. Very little room.
I tried to get some wire to go to bottom thinking I could pick it up with pincers.
Suggestions???
I replaced mine with stick on LEDs, I guess the # 10 is for the TM?
Try heating the insert and pulling it out and put the light wire behind it then reheat and push the insert back in
I’m OK on mounting.
Can’t get the wire from run rail to the old wire…rod holders in wat.
I need a way to feed them around stuff.

Try to run a string first. You can tie a steel washer on a string. And try to pick it up with a magnet. Coat hangers are a big help sometimes also. if you know any electricians they know all the tricks and have the gadgets. Good luck.
I am fragile.
Not like a flower.
But like a bomb.
String won’t go.
I have 1/2" hole in rub rail for the light…I have run copper wire(bare) thru as the wire can be shaped/bent, but it hangs up on stuff.
Might try screw or something on string thru that hole and try to pick up w/ magnet???

Can you temporarily remove the rod holders?

Not sure…will look into that…good idea.

String and a shop vac worked on my last wire snaking ordeal - thanks to Bob’s suggestion.

1+ on the string and shop vac - specifically try small diameter jet cord and add a “parachute” to the end to give the shop vac something to pull on…use one of those banned single use plastic bags…

Interesting, in all my years I have never heard or thought of that hat-trick but I will sure put it on the try this list.
I have used a vacuum string before----FORGOT IT… Thanks for reminder.
Might have to “make” a flat nozzle to slip in there

Rod holders seem to be glued in…I pulled the screws and they don’t move.
Trying to figure how to get vacuum close enough to suck.

Can always put a smaller piece of hose in the vacuum and tape it to the larger one to get into tighter spaces.
