Labor Day weekend out of Litle River

Got to Myrtle Beach around 11:30 PM on friday towing an Edgewater 20.Im too embarrased to talk about saturday, so I guess Ill start with sunday. Sunday morning we were going to the jungle, but when your traveling with 40 year olds they always want to stop short, so we ended up at the hole halfway to the jungle. (Sorry I dont have the name because I forgot to make sure the charts were snug so it blew out on the way to the landing). We trolled with a plug and two or three ballyhoo. No fish caught, not even one bite. So after that we went to the Little River inshore. The captain claimed to have gotten a massive bite from like a 50Lb. red, but strangly when he reeled it in all the bait was there:question:I dont know how. Im sure that red took atleast some of the bait. Well after that we went to the little river offshore. Once again we trolled with ballyhoo and once again no bites or anything. We got low on oil and went all the way back to Little River to get oil. After that we turned up towards Calabash and ate at the Fish Hut. After that we headed up to the inlet and just played around for a LOOOOOONG time. Saw like a 45’ racing boat come flying by at about 40. Went out into the ocean and about 3 minuets later(and $3000 in fuel)he came back. Saw lots of guys in 42’ sea rays go out into the ocean and turn right back around. Only one boat made it by… a 24’ carolina skiff. The only thing we brought home from this trip was a Massive sunburn and a good memory. So I guess the main reason im posting this is to see if anyone had luck this weekend.

Im not OCD. Im CDO. Its kinda like OCD only in alphabetical order.

We fished Sunday with limited results, a couple of short kings at Hot Spots and Wayne Upchurch reef.

Sometimes you get the fish…sometimes they get you.

If that’s really the case, my next trip should be super phenomenal!!!
I’m overdue!

I resemble that 40 year old remark!

“Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.”
~ Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)

We fished out of Little River on Saturday and ended up with kings, mahi, and an african pompano and of course sharks and barracudas!
