Lack of bait shrimp in the creeks?

Went out yesterday in a creek way up the Wando to catch some bait for an afternoon fishing trip. It was about 2+ hrs into the incoming, a little later than I prefer for catching shrimp but certainly not high water time. This is a creek that normally produces shrimp really well but yesterday, I managed a whole 2 shrimp in spots where we normally used to be able to load up. I did get a bunch of mullet but the shrimp were non-existent.
Anyone seeing similar?
I’d like to go to these same spots about 1 hour on either side of low to see if it makes a big difference.

The tides have been running extra high, both on the high tide and low tide for the past few days. I went out Sunday and the low never got very low. They are still running high today. Not sure what is causing it. I’m sure it had an affect on the shrimp. Screen grab from Saturday showing a tide graphic and how high they were running.

We went out yesterday and found a lot of shrimp for bait…all pretty small…but shrimp. I did notice that they were higher up on the Mudd flats than I normally see them…brought home a few bags of those and finger mullet to Vaccum sealed for the winter

Just wish I had been able to find some big enough to eat yrfishing

I haven’t been fishing as much as I normally do, so my pattering of the bait shrimp may be off, but I too have had a hard time finding the shrimp. They have certainly NOT been in my normal shrimp spots - smaller marsh drains that hold 1-2 ft of water at dead low. I normally would be able to catch shrimp in these spots up through early Nov.
