Hey guys. My name is Lauren and I am wanting to get more involved in fishing. I spent a lot of time on the water growing up and did mostly offshore. I still go offshore when I can, can tie rigs, prep ballyhoo, throw a cast net, bait a hook, reel in a fish, but I have a LOT to learn and no boat to do it on. I have off on Tuesday, sometimes Fridays, and every Sunday and I am looking for a friend that can teach me the ropes until I can buy my own (**() boat! Ha. Really wanting to bottom fish and do some inshore saltwater. I’m a quick study and a lot of fun and really motivated to do this! Let me know!
Welcome to the site Lauren . I mostly lurk but I was about to make a post about where to stay if I bring my boat down to do the salt thing . The wolves will be along in a few days but I am a good egg. I am old in body but young in mind , fishing is my passion along with eating , You do cook don’t you as In would expect home cooked meals if I came down
Washing the boat with my help would also be required , because my arthritis acts up sometimes .
I like you want to learn more of the salt fishing deal but I do have plenty of time on my hands but I might add it’s been over 9 years since I have been skunked on a fishing trip ~~~ I am a fishing magnet if I have to say so myself .
Flounder gigging and fishing would be one of my main interests along with catching one of each ocean fish out there .
I haven’t met anyone on this site but Capt Mitch who I made a web site for .I love humor , people and fishing .

I may have room on some of our bottom fish trips…
We tend to fish on sunday alot this yr due to the weather patterns…

In all seriousness…there are plenty of great avenues for you to get involved fishing in Charleston. You could get involved with http://carolinaladyanglers.org/ or just fish around charlestonangler or haddrells for some sound advise. Or post something in the match up thread. I’m sure you will get some takers

Haha. Not desperate. Just wanting to be pointed in the right direction, but thanks. I would expect as someone with a passion for fishing, enough to be on a forum, that you would feel the same way and want to do the same thing. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere. Right? I’m not positive, but I don’t think you are the subject of desperation Baracuda was refering to… As suggested by someone previously, post in the fishing match up section for a better chance to catch a ride… I personally would love to take you, but I have spent years fishing fresh water and would need a teacher myself for salt… I intend to start fishing more often in the salt water, but am not in any position knowlege wise to teach someone else…
Best of luck to you though, and BTW, most regulars on this page are good people, so take the off tempo comments with some thick skin and some humorous intent and you will be fine.

Wow. I am surprised you haven’t had any offers to go fishing. I will be glad to take you on some trips. I am by no means a saltwater expert but I know my way around, and catch fish. I am out of Town this weekend, but will definatley be going fishing next weekend. You are welcome to come along.

Lauren , see how fast I found ya and just to think we could have found some fish together (FAST) for a few biscuits and gravy with a little cubed steak and some sweet tea . Oh well have fun with Gut Wrench and be sure you post some pictures of your catch as you know “it never happened without pics”

She said bottom fishing and inshore… She’s also said what days she has off and what she knows. Prepping baits throwing net etc. A little reading comprehension goes a long way…
