ran south at 28kts put lines in after seeing a weedline forming in 250’ lots of flyers and life. was not red hot but picked at the fish here and there. 2 slingers then 7 nice gaffers with 2 bulls in the 25lb range. Tossed back some flip flops and here and there and lost a 2 other decent fins
had a mystery fish eat hit the blue/white IIlander with a horse bally on the way back. Dumped 2/3rds of the 50w in what seemed like 30 seconds. had to put a little more drag on him and he came unglued. never jumped so thinking super stud hoo but who knows.
ran back at 40kts. ocean was like a lake today.

one of the few pics we took. while we were about to gaff this fish a calf showed up and went after a ballyhoo hanging a foot out of the water from the rigger clip.
That’s awesome. Better to save 600yds of line than be down a reel for the day. FYI, each 100yds of line in the water adds about 10lbs of drag to the line. Also, the decreasing diameter of your spool will automatically up your drag from the reel. Solid day on the water. Congrats!
Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.
