Lake Level

I don’t know where SCE&G is going to put the rest of the water that is coming down from the upstate. Since Tuesday, the lake has come up 2.8 feet, or there are about 748 million gallons of water in the lake that were not there on Monday. And there is a chance of rain almost every day next week.

If I lived anywhere near where it flooded when they opened the flood gates last time, I’d be filling sand bags right now!

We had a 30’ tree behind the toonboat when I walked down to the dock yesterday. Y’all watch out for logs and floating debris around the elbow. The lake looks like chocolate milk up here.

I stopped by the dam on my way to run some errands. The lake is definitely high and I saw a lot of floating debris out there.

Was out there on Saturday just running the boat a little…saw numerous 6-10 foot floating logs, some much more stout than others, but any of them would get your attention if you hit one. A few legitimate small trees in the mix too. Had to really keep an eye out for them. Saw them around between Spence and the Dam in the big pool, and plenty of them from Spence up to the gap. That was as far as I went. I imagine its worse up lake where the channels narrow.

The lake is at 359.85 now. That is higher than it was the first week of October. Probably a new record!
