Lake Moultre 11/20 Got2Go

I got just what the doctor ordered, HUMBLE PIE! I started out early before dark, scouting around for bait and trying to mark some fish. Bait was everywhere. I mean from the boat landing to across the lake. I threw the castnet on some, but they were way to small, like 2" herring for slab crappie. I was able to jig some livebait up, but not enough to mess with by the time a few friends showed up. We fished thoroughly with artificials, but without any strikes. I thought about going back out as I dropped my buddies off at the landing, especially after seeing 2 boats putting in to go livebaiting, but couldn’t with the invite from my wife with fresh chocolate chip cookies and coffee. The lake was eerie with it being dead calm and bait splashing everywhere. Maybe some rougher weather will stir 'em up for me? Boat is rigged and ready to go, maybe another trip tonight?

Got 2 go,
That’s not what I wanted to read this morning. I’m also going to give it a try tonight. My batteries are charged, and I put new line on the rods last night.

Do you know what the winds are going to be like tonight? I don’t like that white cap stuff.

Blue Fish,

It’s going to blow like crazy today, but it should lay down this evening, N 5-10mph. No whitecaps . I’m fixing to switch my rods and rigs out for some inshore saltwater fishing. Have fun tonight, catch 'em up, and be careful.

Don’t believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see!</font id=“blue”>

Lynn: you love that rough water fishing…and cold temps…a windy night is what you are waiting for…and you are the only person I know that can catch fish in that sort of weather.

Hopefully we can get together soon for some fishing…

have a good weekend…

Bluefish,Unless you have a 20’ plus salt water boat stay home! I’ve been out there in a 16 bow rider at 20 NW. I was scared ****less but we caught the hell out of them. At 20 NW the water bounces off the the dam and it is actually 4-5 with a dangerous interval.

If your not fishin your not livin!

Thats what happened to me and the Mrs. last weekend! Thought we could get behind the lock wall and anchor. BIG MISTAKE!!! Tried 3 diff. times. Not for the novice helmsman, thats for sure. It was like a washing machine in there. Hopeing to be there Sat. morning tho.

As of right now, WNW 10mph…Perfect:smiley:
