Lake Moultrie 11/12 Got2Go

I normally do not post, but feel it is my duty since Mr. Striper, Lynn, has been unable to fish and post lately . My father and I fished last night and managed to have a pretty good night. The small shad were everywhere, but elusive to the sabiki rig and castnet. Scratching the livebait plan after only thirty minutes of trying to get bait, we broke out the plugs. We had some serious action for 1.5hrs., landing 5 keepers w/ one pig around 31" and FAT. We threw back 2 shorts at 25.999". We had 2 doubles and, hold your, a quadruple hook-up:smiley:. No cats . Fishing with my father under that big moon and seeing his face light up as he reminisced about the glory striper days reminded me of what fishing is all about, friendship and fellowship. I just want to thank Lynn for taking the time out and showing me a thing or two. He truly is a man of his word and God’s word. I’d love to go again tonight, but last night was perfect. I’ll spend some time with our 8 week old and mama the next couple of nights and get back at it next week. Again, thanks Lynn and look forward to seeing you out there, fishing with you, and reading your posts.

Great going!! Thanks for the compliments, but it sounds to me like you are the man!! I hope you saved me a couple! If I feel up to it, I may go tomorrow night. I just have to take it easy on my back (which is fun to do with the kids:wink:)… I’ll be in touch!!

Would you say that the lake is better this year than it has been. you guys sure seem to be getting some fat fish.

Yeah, it has been pretty good so far! It is not even “hot” yet!:smiley: Ya’ll guys need to come on down so we can get together and have a blast! Heck, we may even catch a fish or two…[:0]

Yeah, that is kind of what I am thinking. How long of a drive is the dam from Columbia?

Depending on where you start, approx. 1.5 to 2hrs. It may be worth it though. We may be able to learn something from one another.

yeah, I may be able to teach you how to catch the 12" stripers.

Well, that’s better than nothing at all! We get lucky every now and then!! No man, seriously, it would be fun!
As far as little ones, I have thrown back so many 25 1/2" fat fish this “season”. Where were those guys before the new regs?!?

They were probably swimming in oil at 21". I definitely want to get out there some time between thanksgiving and Christmas. maybe the first or second weekend in December.
