I decided to start off with the jig while it was somewhat calm. The shorts did not disappoint. I made the mistake of anchoring last night. It wasn’t long before the wind howled and waves were breaking. That was fun getting the anchor up with waves crashing over the bow![:0] Anyway, I caught around 15 or 16 healthy shorts before taking it to the hill. I almost decided to troll, but I figured I’ll be back out there again soon. Besides, those shorts are fun to catch, but do nothing for my waistline…:smiley::wink:
The striper fishery on Moultrie is looking good for the future!!:stuck_out_tongue::slightly_smiling_face:

I try to let the fish dictate when I go, not the weather.:smiley: You got to go when you think they are biting! Weather is not always favorable, but…
It is really all mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it don’t matter…:slightly_smiling_face::wink:

I should be going Sunday night. I think it will be a steaming 30°.[:0]

I have to go solo most trips because of all my “fair weather” friends…:face_with_head_bandage: Also, when the weather is less than desirable, I have little to no competition…:smiley: Just the way I like it!!:slightly_smiling_face:

this is traditionally 1 of the best times of the year to catch cats and stripers on moultrie. the colder it gets, the more it shocks the bait, the more the fish feed, the more you catch.
