Lake Moultrie Friday Night 03/07/08

It was another good night ! Me and a few buddies brought home 19 good size striper. Smallest was around 24" and the biggest was around 30" and weighed close to 15 lbs. according to the grips. We planned on live bait fishing but only trolled. It was working so we didn’t want to change. We lost a bunch of heavy hitters and popped off on one. They were hitting better when we would slow down to a crawl. It was a lot of fun and I was surprised to not see anyone else out there except for another buddy of mine. He and his friend caught 10 keepers.

Here are some pictures. I know the pics are not that great and do not include all the catch, but they wouln’t all fit on the table anyway .

Lynn----u the man--------nice catch…were u trolling using the same lures we used before??? In the same place??? How long were u out there?? All night???

man—I can’t wait to get this cast off…

When is the fish fry?

Yes, SanteeCarl, we trolled around the dam using the stretch 25’s with the red heads. Alot of the fish had bait in their mouth and hanging out their throat so live bait will probably work also. Live bait is what we used to catch them earlier in the week. Hurry up and get that cast off so we can catch some before they quit.

With the populations decreasing rapdly in Santee Cooper Lakes - why take so many fish?
