Well, too bad that cats were not our target. We ended up catching five striper with a couple of them being 27" and 28". No pics, they have already been cleaned, fried and consumed (at least my share of the catch) . I did bring home 3 cats for my father though we threw back seven that were all at least 30-35 lbs each. There were plenty of fish and bait but they just had a little lock-jaw. CUDADAWG, we caught the striper about an hour or two after you left. Not nearly as much action as I would of hoped. You kind of get spoiled after having a few good nights.
Last night I guess it was after midnight before the striper hit. It seems to vary from night to night. I have slayed them before right after dark on some nights and some nights it will be 3 or 4am before I start getting hits. I have killed them one night and have been the very next night without a hit with the same conditions (weather, pressure, moon phase, etc.) as the night before. You just never know. Or at least I haven’t got them figured out. I do get lucky every now and then though .
Thats just my Luck…Had a good time anyway though…Man i cant believe the fish i was marking and not get any to bite…Down the end of the ■■■■were the water comes up to 25 or less…right at that point the screen would be covered in fish hundreds and got one knock down…but he wouldnt hold on…Then were the camel humps are was another loaded up spot…the fish was in there early…when we got there the bait was jumping out the water …though I might get a little schooling action but nothing…I probaly go one night this week…how about you…later Carl
CUDADAWG,
I’m shooting for Wednesday night. It looks like it will be a little windy though. If the wind is from the SW it will be a bumpy ride across the lake but the wind should be blocked by the wall. It’s still a little early to tell. Right now, it looks like I’ll be solo. Maybe we can meet up and go. I’ll be in touch.
