Lake Moultrie / Sat. Morning 11-15

I went this windy Saturday morning knowing it would be interesting. Bass boat fishing for stripers is interesting when it’s white capping. I now, know my bulge pump works very well. I don’t believe we had any dry clothes on us when we were done. Guys, I can only run three lines at a time and once or twice I got those tangled up. We boated one cat 8lb. and a 10lb. Large Mouth Bass:smiley: in 30 foot of water. We took a few photos of the bass and then let it go. It was a very interesting, enjoyable day even if I didn’t catch any stripers. Lynn thanks for the 411. Maybe I will do better next time.
From listening to the radio, I know they were catching striper in the upper, lower lake.
Question….I saw a Fla. Boat trolling next to the lock this morning inside the markers, is this normal or should I stay outside the marker like the sign says:question:

You need a special "bait permit" to anchor and fish beyond the bouys, available at the Berkley co-op building on old 52. I'v trolled into and out of the bouys before I got my permit, {knowing it was wrong[:I]}. There are security guards that will CALL you on it in a skinney minute tho...and tell you, not ask you, to leave NOW...and if you give them any ■■■■■, they call for DA MAN..{dnr} Best to play it safe..

Yeah, those guards are very disrespectful! They have nothing better to do than mess with you. There are a bunch of new guards out there that think they are something. They are also trying to say that you can’t troll inside of the bouys on the lock side. One of the big wheels out there told me that the lane needs to remain open. The locks do not even open at night, so I asked him, open for what? He said he didn’t know. Makes a lot of sense doesn’t it?:wink: A friend of mine is supposed to get to the bottom of that Monday morning. He was told before by a different big wheel that you could go on that side as long as you did not anchor or tie up and kept moving. I spent a good bit of time Friday morning along with a fishing buddy at the dam arguing about it with a guard on a power trip and one of the higher up agents. It just burns me up because it makes no sense. It would be different if someone could give some sort of a reason for this “rule”.:angry:

YEAH, SOME ARE AS NICE AS CAN BE AND OTHERS ARE JUST AS RUDE. 1 WEEKEND I WAS ANCHORED PARRALLEL TO THE WALL WALKWAY AND THIS GUY WALKS ABOUT 3 STEPS DOWN AND YELLS ABOUT THE PERMIT. I TOLD HIM MY # AND MY NAME. THEN HE TOLD ME TO "SWING" MY BOAT AROUND TO VERIFY THE #.!!! AND ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS WALK ANOTHER 6 PACES TO SEE THE FRONT OF MY BOAT!! BUT, RATHER THAN CAUSE A COMMOTION I FIRED UP THE MOTOR AND "SWUNG IT" AROUND.. I realise they have a job to do and I'm very thankful that we get to fish in that particular spot, but DAM !!! {Not to mention they have a ref. list that matches names and #'s and I'v only seen 1 person EVER use it.}
