Lake Moultrie Sunday Night 11-02

It was another short trip, less than four hours. I wasn’t there long before I caught two nice striper on back to back passes. But, they were only 24" and 25 1/2", so back in the drink they went. I caught around 7 or 8 “shorts”, all were at least 24" and appeared to swim off great:slightly_smiling_face:. I ended up with my single person limit. I was solo, so 3 fish was just fine. I did miss a few hits also. I had one striper on until I picked up the rod and he thought he was a wahoo and shot straight up out of the water, shook his head ever so violently and said goodbye.[:0] I had two keepers in the cooler and was bringing my lines in to leave when the third keeper was so kind as to take hold of a lure that was on the rod that I had just picked up to reel in:smiley::smiley:. The keepers were 26 1/4", 28" and 30". I also caught 3 cats. I gave away the cats, but the striper are chilling until I get up in the morning. There were plenty of shad busting around the dam. I will be there tonight also if the Good Lord sees fit. I should have two buddies with me, so that 3 person limit might be tough.

Saturday night was a good one for us as well. We caught 8 fish with two keepers and a cat for the stew pot. They mostly hit red and white but caught some on a stange orange color. It was nice to be the only boat out there.

If your not fishin your not livin!

Alright now, don’t be catching all my fish!!:wink:lol
Good job! Hopefully we can get out there at the same time one of these nights coming up. I agree, it is nice having no competition! That’s why I love the cold weather fishing, plenty of fair weather fisherman out there. They just don’t know what they’re missing!
I’m heading back tonight. The weather should be nasty, so I hope that will translate into plenty of action!!

All the one’s that had lynn tatooed on them got thrown back!! Its funny that they all were the shorty’s. As for the weather I love it 40 with a 15 knot wind from the NW. It makes those lures dance. Stew finally called and sounds excited about going on the next trip. Maybe one night this week! Sea ya on the water.

I agree! I have always had better results when it was choppy and the lures surged back and forth, giving them plenty of action.
