Well, I went 5 for 10. They were hitting when I put the motor in neutral and back in gear after slowing to less than 1 mph. That resulted in poor hook sets which resulted in fish getting free. At least that is what my story is. But I did get my single limit ā¦ They were not giants, but decent size. Two were around 23" and the other three were between 24" and 25".
Half of the fillets will have a canola bath tonight and the other half will be chilling in the freezer .
BTW, did anyone notice it was a tad bit chilly last night?? I had to keep washing my floor down to melt the ice before I did a slip and flip off the boat.

I mainly fish near the dam. Certain times of the year I will fish the middle to northern part of the lake. Come on down. I will show you what little bit I know, or think I know .

I went tonight only for a couple of hours if that. First pass I caught a 20 - 25# cat. I missed a few hits and broke off on what I think was a good striper based on how it was running. I had a buddy with me that has to work in the early AM so I went ahead and called it a short night. Marking plenty of fish still. Plenty of bait also. I might be going tomorrow night (so far solo).
Lynnmcd, we went a week before you on the 8th and didnāt even have a bite. I donāt know if we are doing something wrong. Tried letting out different amounts of line and even trolled a stretch 20 to see if that would make a difference and it didnāt. I guess Iāll have to keep living vicarioulsy through you cuz I canāt catch em.

I went Friday and Monday night for a few hours each. I caught nothing both nights. I still think there are plenty of fish there, you just have to get lucky. I hope to go this friday night and give them another shot. As I have said many times, you just never know with those pesky striper. Or at least I donāt know, I just get lucky once in a while . Anyone going this weekend?
I want to go soooo bad but the Mrs has to work till Sat. nite and wants to catfish on Sunday. I told her it was gonna be tooo darn cold to stand on that corner on Saturday nite!![:0]:wink: But we'll be out there bright and early on Sunday morning.. Give us a wave if your trolling by the locks..
