Well, there is not a whole lot to tell. We saw plenty of striper at the dam swimming around in small schools, but none that were hungry for the lures.
We did catch 4 nice blue cats(biggest around 28 lbs.). We also hooked 2 big gar. One let go right at the boat. I introduced the other one to my equalizer until he was a little limp.
We saw no bait at all, just a bunch of needle fish. As far as the striper, they were thrashing on the surface all over(I assume getting bait that we could not see). Several times they jumped and splashed close to the boat and we could see them plain as day. There are definitely some striper there, just not cooperating yet. I still plan on going Friday night though. They might turn on! I won’t know unless I go!

I’m gonna go up tonight and hopefully catch some bait somehow. Will post later on when i get home what was up… Bait was real hard to catch last time i was up too.
danaf01, I would rethink that idea about tonight if it were me! If it was going to be SE or S then it wouldn’t be that bad on that part of the lake. That W to NW will beat you up!! I know, I have been there!

I know it says only 1 to 2 feet. But, on the lake there is no period hardly at all. It can be worse than 3 to 4 feet on the ocean when there is a good period or swell. You may or may not already know this, I just do not want anyone to underestimate the small lake. No, it is not the ocean, but it has its moments…

Thanks for posting lynn, I was begining to wonder. I'll be there Sat. morn. Did you put in at Atkin's or S/S? Just wondering if you saw any action along the rocks on your way back in..
I put in at SS. My friend is retired Navy. I did not notice any activity other than around the dam.

Probably if/when the water level gets a little lower, if they do at all…
