A buddy and I only fished for around 3 hours, but that was all the time needed. We ended up catching our 2 man limit of striper:smiley: and 2 good size cats. Two of the striper came as a double. According to my cheap pair of grips, the biggest weighed around 17lbs. Yes, I am going to break a forum “rule” by posting a weight and a pic.[:0] It was a great trip. We did not even catch a short fish, which was strange considering the new regs. All striper were caught on red headed MirroLures except the last keeper. It hit a red headed textured stretch 25. I can’t wait to go again!! This is the only thing I really like about the cooler weather.
All of them were thick except the one all the way to the right in the pic. It was like an arrow.

man, nice catch. I need to get out there. Nobody is catching anything but small ones here at murray. I have not caught a legal fish since mid summer. Odd that one on the right would be so thin when the others are so fat. Must be something wrong with him.
NICE CATCH!! I thought the cooler weather might turn'em on. I'll be there Sun. morning!! Is Atkins still launchable? Are the fish by the Dam or "up a spell"?[:I]
I am not using Atkins. I’m not taking that chance. I think it is still launchable though.
No fish at the dam!! You have to find them all the way across the lake, as far away from the dam as possible, really deep trolling(right on the bottom)!!lol

That’s a little worrysome that you’re not seeing “shorts”…may be more evidence that we’ve lost most of several year classes of fish.
Hopefully some smaller ones will start showing up.
There is plenty of short ones out there. Another buddy left before we got out there. He said all he caught were several short fish and no keepers. I have caught a bunch of short ones also, just not that night…
