Lake Moultrie

Had a great day on the water. Boated over 35 stripers between 22 and 24 inches, only one 26" keeper. All on white bucktails w/white trailer. 6 ft stained water. The water is NOT too cold…git out there!

I hope all those fish come up to the rivers of columbia this spring. It should be a good year in the rivers. I wouldnt mind catching a bunch of 24" fish. Funny how fish always seem to be just below legal

Is there any knowledge you can pass on to help a guy find these fish? Do they tend to school around any portion of the resevoir during different times of year? I was on Moultrie this summer for the first time, and I saw a school swim by, but could not get one to bite. I was throwing a 1/4oz red-head jig with grub body. Thanks!

Just a little FYI…the striper season is closed at Santee during the summer. If you incidentally hook one it has to immediately be released, but it’s against the law to purposely try to catch them.

Continue to rip the lips off of 23" to 25" stripers in about 16 foot of very clear water. Pretty fish with lots of spunk but nothing to show for it. Very frustrating trying to find a 26" fish. oh well I’ll eat shellcracker and bass till that’s gone. Headed to Key West in a few weeks for some kings and 'hoos.
