Went Sat. Caught 22 catfish drifting cut shad in 30 - 35 ft of water.
Do you let your bait drag along the bottom or is it suspended off the bottom?
I use a Santee Cooper rig. I like a 1oz weight and a 2 inch cork and I either run a 8.0 circle hook if bigger fish are biting or like Sat when it was mostly small fish I change to a 2 J hook. The weight drags bottom and the cork keeps the bait suspended just off of the bottom. I try to keep my drift speed around .5 mph.

Thank you sir. We tried drifting about a month ago without a cork and the weight along the bottom and lost a lot of rigs. I will definitely try your method.
try using a drift weight or a slinky weight also. Will help keep your weights from snagging
