We decided to give it a go on Saturday. Fishing was tough. Marked fish around the 40-60 ft range. We missed a few throughout the day and just when we thought the skunk had got us we finally got four schoolies. All fish were caught near the Coast Guard Station. The fish were caught in 15 feet of water all off the bottom a few cranks and on blue back herring. Tried free lining to no avail, and was quite surprised that the down rods were taken over free lines in such shallow water. Just goes to show you that when you think you “know” you have no idea.
Pretty much the same on Friday. Managed to boat a 30" fish on free lined bbh in 50 ft of water. A couple of runs and pulling out by 1pm.
From what I have heard this past weekend didn’t produce very many fish at all. A few people had luck, but for the most part it was dead.
