Fished the morning until about 11:00. Started out bass fishing in the Pine Island Cove, out of the wind. Then moved out and started trolling. We picked up a few small ones and looked for others around Spence Islands, with a couples of hits. Went for a boat ride and watched the hummingbird, nothing. Came across a guy at the towers with a large striper on pulling out drag. The striper wrapped him around the end tower and the guy couldnt start his pontoon and give chase. The guy jumped into my boat and the chase was on again. I netted the striper, well at least the stripers head. The striper was near 40" long. I was happy to net the fish and we were both shocked and knew we were lucky. It was his only keeper for the day. That was the morning in a nut shell. It was better than sleeping in.
