Lake Murray 7-6 morning

Up until 9 o’clock it was tough to find the fish. Then found a group that had moved well back off the point that we often fish in 63 feet of water. Action was fast and furious for an hour. Got our ten for the day. Four were not quite long enough and the keepers were mostly 22-23 inches, but we did manage a 7 pounder and a 9 pounder that measured 29 inches.

Went out on the 4th at first light for 3 hours armed with bucktails, spooks, and Bomber type lures. We’ve never fished with artificials for stripers before and it’s obvious we didn’t know what we were doing, because we were on the fish. We cast and we trolled, but nothing. Watched a boat pulling several big umbrella rigs come up with several shorts. Maybe we should stick to herring. Just found out today that Lake World opens at 5 o’clock which can get us on the water earlier.

Richard is also selling bait at the boat ramp from his boat by about 5 if you want to go by water or just put in at the dam.
