Sorry it’s a litle late, but what the heck - the report’s always the same anyway … well … sort of …
8-21
We went out with StriperSkiff in the AM … we started off being the only ones out on the water, but by 8:30 there were a dozen or so milling around … we managed to pull in about 12-14 ranging from 12" to 22" … there were a bunch on the bottom (35’-60’), but none of them were really biting … we invited a few of the larger ones over for dinner and the rest we let go … all of the fish seems to be doing better than the week before, but that may be because we were fishing in the afternoon the week before … we also ended up with a nice Gar that wrapped Liz’s line around it’s jaws, but wasn’t actually hooked …
Our Dinner Guests
8-28
We decided to get uyp early and take the kids fishing (they were not impressed that we left them at home the weekend before (SEE ABOVE)) … we got to the Dam Ramp, put the boat in, motored around to the bait guys and loaded up on bait. When we went to pull away the steering went out (hydraulic) … … the bait guy was nice enough to pull us back around the dock to the ramp where we reloaded the boat and took it back home … with a livewell FULL of fresh bait!!! … I quickly fixed the hydraulics and we raced back to the ramp and set back into the water at 8:30 … without losing a single herring … we checked a couple of spots and located a nice school, but none of them were hungry anymore …
Moral of the Story: Always carry a bottle of hydraulic fluid under the center console …
Guess that means we get to try again this weekend!!!
it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!
