I was just watching the Lake Murray history segment on WLTX http://www.wltx.com/features/divers-find-lost-towns-under-lake-murray/490720037 . I’ve always been fascinated by the history and the structures, etc under the waters. I’ve managed to locate the old Wyse Ferry steel bridge but the other structures have eluded me and was wondering if anyone else had located any that would care to share the locations of. I read that there was a sunken boat near Goat Island that used to be there for diving but I’ve been unable to locate it. Where exactly is the old stone trading post building? Anybody know? Or any other structures or artifacts?
I would just like to locate using my sidescan/downscan system. Feel free to PM me if you’d like.
Thanks

I’ve seen a little bit of the history, I’d like to go diving in Murray one day, as well as Santee Cooper.
Check with a dive shop in the Columbia area, they should be able to give you some info.
I found a Lake Murray Then and Now map on Ebay over the weekend. There were several of them available. Can’t wait for it to come in so I can check it out. Hopefully it’ll have some good intel on it. I know there is an app called Under Lake Murray but it’s only available on android and I have an iphone now. Might try to download it on an old tablet.
