Lake Murray personal best

Went out Saturday morning with Phishinphan and landed a apprx 20#er. I did not have a scale so the size is estimated. It was 37" long with a 20" girth. I have pictures on a digital camera but I can’t find the usb cord to download. I have one on the phone as well. Is there a way to get it from a verizon phone to the internet? I do not have internet service on my phone.

whoa man…nice catch…lets see the pics…and you forgot to tell where you got this monster…I plan on going some this week in the mornings…

i weighed the fish when i got home, 21 pounds on the dot. great fish. i have to say, steely did a great job getting it to the boat.

steely… you can open the pix in the phone, send to pix place. then go to verizon pix place website, sign on with your number and go to the gallery then save to pc. i’ve done it a few times, so call me if you need to.

congrats again on the PB steely… great job!

Man thats a nice one, were you using herring?

But I got to stop wishin, got to go fishin

by the way… i’m the photographer… so, i’ll go ahead and say i screwed steely on the photo on his phone…cut the fish in half, BUT, in my defense… the one’s i got on the camera are much better!!

Fish was caught just east of spence on the lexington side of the channel. We were in about 130’ of water but I had the herring at about 25’. Caught him at about 6:15 or so. Of course he hit my smallest rod with the lightest line (6’ uglystick with about 60 yds of 10#) Thee was a ton of boats just down from the condos. Never saw that many in one place. Must have been 50 boats on the point. I would have probably caught more but i let phinsinphan real in the rest of my fish..

you let me? hmmm… maybe so, but either way you lost the bet!

i would have won if you would quit setting the hook on hooked fish. I think you were intentionally loosing them. Just curious if you checked what was in its stomach. I do that to see what they are feeding on.

that is a nice fish…great job…when you get the other pictures please post…

I have been fishing past condos in the mouth of Eighteen Mile creek…plenty of fish…but a lot of smaller fish.

ONE day…i hope to catch the “big one”…

i don’t typically gut the fish, i just filet em. i should have looked, but didn’t. i was ready to get some of that big boy in the fryer.

Finally got a better pic

Wow! [:0] That’s amazing…I hope to do that well someday too!

yeah man…nice one…

Great fish steely!!! Sorry to hear about the bad luck this weekend…things will pick back up soon.

Steeley…that is an awesome fish…great catch…

I will hopefully catch one like that one of these days

I used to fish for steelhead in gin clear water. You had to use 4# test or they would scatter away from your line. Catching 10#+ steelhead on 4# teaches you good drag control. That reel is a Shimano Sedona rear drag, it has a fighting drag that lets you adjust drag quickly. It seems like I get most of my fish on that rod, maybe the 10# helps. I caught one on the river 25# using the same rod and 8#. I got lucky he turned around right before he spooled me. That was my first striper in SC and got me hooked.

Very nice catch. Can’t wait to get back out myself and hope to be so lucky.
