This board is only for lynn’s trips to moultrie. i wish someone posted as much information on Murray. I always found it odd that the fish in murray leave the dam in the fall and the fish on moultrie go to the dam in the fall.
One would think that the bluebacks, american shad, and menhaden gather at Pinopolis trying to get out as the temperatures drop in the fall, but wouldn’t the landlocked bluebacks in Murray still behave in a similar fashion? Good question steelytom. Perhaps the Murray bluebacks make up less of the forage base in Murray and don’t attract as much attention from the stripers. You don’t see that down system fall movement out of threadfin shad and gizzard shad.
Finger shad are the most abundant/easiest bait on the lake now. From twin up to the bridges. Lots of schooling late on calmer days. Good luck.

Caught over 20 throw backs on Wednesday back in rocky creek up the lake. Found some schooling fish around bomb island on the way back home that evening and managed one fish about 23".

Check out the above site. Go to the MSC and Lake Murray sections. I know that there are a few detailed reports in the MSC section.

I’m going to give it a try Saturday evening. Weather looks right this time. Thanks for the reports
STEELY,
DR’S? FREE LINE?
probably freelines, planers, and down lines. I usually run two freelines off the back, two freelines off of planers if weather allows and 2 or 4 down. Except in summer I only run all down roads.
