Lake Murray report?

Anyone been out this week after the front came through to see what the fish are doing? They were schooling in the coves early Saturday before it started blowing, and figured with the wind it probably pushed them in the coves even thicker. However, not sure what these low pressures do to them.

Haven’t been out this week, but going out about sunset tonight. Will post how we do.

I might be out there tonight as well. Probably stay near Dreher. You gonna be on a channel or got a contact if you wann share any info through the evening?

Sure. We’re going to put in at the dam and fish the lower lake. I probably won’t bother bringing the radio, but I’ll send you a PM with phone nummber.

For what its worth, gave it a try this morning after not fishing for over a week, and had no idea depth or area. Tried several areas, but only landed small fish until 11. Then in about 65 found keeper size fish with dead calm conditions. Landed 3 in 15 mins then nothing.
In the general area of Susie. Good luck Tim

Thanks…and good luck next week at Edisto!

Depending on what the weather does, a couple of guys from work are heading out of Bohicket Monday am…If you guys are fishing that day, just send me a PM and i’ll get you his info…always good to know another boat out there.

Put in about 8:30 last night and started to head up the lake a bit, but there was a stiff southerly wind, so we de decide to just head over toward the Lex side of the lake and fished in about 50’ of water anchored off the cow pasture and drew some realitively nice size bait fairly quickly. After a while they were pretty thick, but we just weren’t seeing as many stripers down below them as in the past few trips…and the ones we caught were mostly shorts. Didn’t really bother measuring any, but we only got 2 that were obvious keeper size fish out of about 15 caught…most of the others looked to be just short… 19"/ 20" range.

We didn’t have much luck. We need more lights. Gonna try the utility lights next time. We never could get any bait to come. We found some nice bait schooling before dark in a cove around 40’, and caught a short and had a decent one on a free line live bait at dusk, but lost it.

Nothing after dark until we moved out of the cove towards the gap and then around 11:30 we had 2 20"-21" fish trolling. Nice night, except for the crazy wind.

as soon as I get my boat back from Tom Hughes I will get out there. I hate being landlocked!
