Looks like the lake started turning over last night. Hope it settles before Saturday.
Oh!!! That’s ugly for Saturday! With the wind and cool weather, it will not slow down. As for Saturday, it’s going to be tough. But the best time to fish is when you can!

Well, I feel better that it happened now instead of later in the week…could have been worse and just turned over Friday or Saturday.
As of right now, I’m off on Friday and plan on fishing. I’ll be sure to post a report that day.

Well, we knew it was coming, now to just handle it. We’re going to give the wind a chance to settle and wait till Friday morning before we head out. Right now I think we’re going to try shallower water at the back of the creeks. Anyway, for better or worst, we’ll post what we saw and how we did. If we had any artificial skill or technique we would have joined up with the Saturday group.

Yall should go ahead and come anyway. Its a learning experience. This way forces u to fish artificials. Its hard to try it when bait is available. Plus u never know when a big school will pop up out of know where and anybody can catch them when they are going crazy.
U can fish artificials EXACTLY like u fish live bait in the fall and winter. We caught one fish like this on sunday but didnt try it alot. Probably will have to sat if we cant find a large concentration to jig on top of.
Hope yall change your mind, would like to see as many people out there having fun. Plus i can think of alot worse ways to waste 10$…lol…

Chip beat me to it, but I read your post earlier and was going to come back suggest fishing for the exact same reason. It will be a good chance to learn to catch them on artificials.
I know you golf, so…It is like me with golf. I can hit a golf ball a mile and have an awful short game. So when I go to the range, I spend 90% of the time hitting my driver instead of my irons. So, just think of you guys entering the tournament the equivalent of me going to a par 3 where I am forced to use my irons.
I am going out Friday morning myself. You guys are welcome to come along and we’ll try some spoons and/or topwater if we can find some fish. I even have a couple of big spoons you can borrow for saturday if you don’t have any.
Another thing to keep in mind is the weigh in is right there in your neck of the woods. lake and you only need to catch one fish to win!!

I didn’t mean to scare anyone off with my comments earlier. The more the merrier! I’m hoping the fish I was on Sunday afternoon haven’t totally left the county. We will definetly have to make some adjustments, and I will not know exactly what to do until we get out there. But the fun is the effort. That’s the game we play!

Well, we decided to give it a go Saturday, especially after missing so much time on the water due to illness, injury, and weather, and it wouldn’t be the first time if we didn’t catch anything, but what the heck. We’ll see what happens. Will probably still go Friday just to see what is going on and then formulate our plans for Saturday. However it turns out, can’t be worst when in my much younger days I pursued the myth of the “singles bar”.
