Does anyone know if the upper lake/river is cleared up yet? At least enough for the fish to be hitting. The Congaree looked better this morning, so I figured the upper lake should be clearing up as well.
hey tom; the little saluda has great color. i went sunday and put in at little river landing (not little reiver marina) went up the river a little bit. the color was perfect; the fishing was slow; the beer was cold; the music was country; the weather was great; what more can a poor man ask for?
I fished in bear/stinking creek yesterday morning and the water was muddy. Only caught one fish 20". What’s up with “Better Bait” and “Lake World”? Got there about 6:15 am and both were closed up. I rang the bell at “Better Bait” and no one came out. Ended up going to PDQ in hilton and they had bait and breakfast.

Lake World has not been open on Tuesdays in the winter for years.

I mostly L/M bass fish so I don’t stop by for bait too often. It actually worked out well though because we were putting in at Hilton anyway. Wasn’t very many boats on the lake at all. I guess I should have put in at the house and fished around Susie Ebert and Ballentine Cove. Probably would have had better luck because they sure weren’t where we were!

Nice meeting Dernflatlander Monday afternoon… First Mate and I took the afternoon off 'cause it was perfect !! didn’t catch anything, but marked a lot at the towers and in main channel towards Bomb Is. some at the mouth of Bear Creek… Katie at Better Bait has been kind of under the weather lately, that might explain Tuesday AM…
