lake murray

got out last night and found some large schools of stripers holding between 30 and 60 feet off of bomb island. a few were hitting the top, but not many rising up that far. i dropped a diamond jig with green eel tail and managed to get 3 keepers with the best at 26in… it was really cool to get them on the light tackle/jig, a much better fight than i have been getting with the lead core. the sunset was a bonus. if anyone has any tips on good lures/jigs they have used to drop down to them i would appreciate it.

my favorite lure is a live herring.:stuck_out_tongue: For artificials around schooling fish I like a half ounce bucktail with an ice fly or other small spoon as a trailer. The larger fish tend to stay deeper.
