Lake Murry

Rode over dam today (first time in 15 yrs) what a change. only saw one boat fishing about 1/2 way to islands, no boats at towers? We use to catch a lot of fish this time of the year there ! What happend to the stripers? Is no one fishing? havent been a post here in more than a week. has everyone gone to salt?

Noticed same thing…usually have to pick a number @ the towers. Place can be a zoo

Its HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTT!..LOL… had some buddies fish this past weekend though just out from the towers and caught 30+ fish, mixed in size kept a couple 24"'s and some shorts. threw some more keepers and shorts back. Its just too hot out there. i am waiting for sept. and we all know what happens in Sept…

Like Murrymaker said it’s been too hot. + the economy + cost of fuel + keepers have been hard to come by. Come on fall!!

The heat has been keeping me from going much too… other than a few nights over the past few weeks where I did some trolling…and that wasn’t very productive. I did try some bait early this am for the first time in about a month and the first spot I checked was just loaded with fish. I anchored and they were biting for a good 1 1/2 hrs before slowing down…it was probably as many fish as I have ever caught in that period of time and only had 1 24" keeper to show for it. Also kept a short that sucked up a circle hook.

The fish seemed to still be fiesty and in really good shape for this time of year. Hopefully we get by another summer without a fish kill.

The heat has kept me off too. I haven’t fished in two weeks. We did get a nice 28" keeper on a point only 30’ deep and probably 15 shorts. I’m waiting on cooler weather. One thing I noticed, it is much easier keeping herring alive in the lake for the time of year. As hot as it’s been, the oxygen levels and temperatures seem to be ok.
