Has anyone ever fished the lake that connects to West Ashley County Park? I think it’s part of Long Branch Creek?
I’ve never fished it. I have seen others fishing there, including a few people putting in with kayaks and small flat bottom boats. I friend of ours who works with the City of Chs parks dept. told us that his fellow workers fished the area and have caught reds in that lake. But that was back in the early days of the park.
Only one way to find out!!!
Yeah I have a yak and will probably go out there tomorrow! I just wasn’t sure what tackle to bring. I will post on here again tomorrow if I have any luck
The pond holds Redfish, Trout, and Flounder. Unsure about how active they are in the colder months. I have only messed around the back lake in late summer.

It is a nice area and there is decent fishing in the pond and it has a large variety of fish that are both fresh and saltwater. It has that mystery value of not knowing what you will reel in, but you mostly catch small fish. I have heard story’s of huge fish being in there a long time ago when there was less fishing pressure there so its possible there could still be some big ones there. There is a little (**() by a dirt road that connects to the pond that is a good/popular area for that place
