Funny, I was thinking fishing with 4 in the boat would give me an advantage with the new 5 and done. Looks like everyone else had the same plan. Good luck

I plan of fishing and wanted to post here and see how you guys think the new law will affect a nighttime tournament like this.

DNR says:

“(3) ‘Day’ means the twenty-four hour period from one-half hour before official sunrise of one day to one-half hour before official sunrise the following day.”

It appears to me we can catch 5/person from start of the tx up until about 6AM on Sun morning and then legally catch another 5/person until the weigh in at 8am…assuming we never have more than 5/person in possession, of course.

Do I understand correctly?

Thanks,

I believe you are correct from my understanding at the meeting.

My thinking is the same as yours - and most importantly I hope that OUR thinking is correct!!! I wish someone from DNR could tell us for sure. I’ve got a guy I can call to be sure. Post back when affirmed.

Ok. After talking with a friendly DNR buddy the rule as it being enforced is that only 5 fish per angler at any given time. 30 mins before/after sunrise until 30 mins before sunrise the following day. Which means that after fishing all night, fish will have to be taken out of boat at roughly 5:00/5:30 am before sunrise Sunday am and other fish caught between sunrise and 8 am Sunday morning will be only fish onboard. DNR will be out all night tonight and tomorrow night so be prepared, have your stuff together and be ready to be checked. These are really nice guys that have helped get our stiper fishery back to where we can catch these 20 plus lb fish again and not peanuts!

How about a report someone?

Well i dont know the names but first had 39 pounds with big fish of 9 pounds. Second. Had 32 something thrid was team catch all with 32 pounds also only 1 ounce away from second place. Sorry dont know all the names but somebody probably will

Yep. Congratulations to Lee, Kreg, Tommy, and everyone else on the Catchall for the 3rd place finish! I do not know the names of the top 2 finishers either, but the winners caught a 30 earlier in the week.

Drift fishing was great for us but we never could get the big bite. We finished 6th with 26-15 and had an enjoyable night with our makeshift team “Reel Hardcore”-- Gary, Van, Darren Holcombe, and yours truly.

Maybe some more detailed info will be posted.

First had a nearly 12 pound big fish with another that was close to 10 I would guess. His name is Guy but I’m not sure about his last name(maybe Roberts?). He owns Fishy Business over on Bush River Rd. It was a tough night of fishing for us but certainly made the most of it. Congratulations to all those that fished and especially those that finished in the money! We all made it through the night so that’s worth something.

Anybody know how many boats entered?

“My biggest worry is that my wife (when I’m dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.”

Think it was 18 boats

but only like 10 or 12 weighed in
