I called lowes and harbor freight…nada they said…and have been checking habitat… Found one at a re - sale place…they wanted 450. 00. [:0]. Are they really that much? This wasn’t brass or fancy… Just one black lantern on a pole. Suggestions anyone? Tiki torch maybe:wink::smiley:

I think you used to be able to find a lamp post in the back of old wardrobes, back behind the coats where all the snow and forests are.

Saying “I am offended” is telling everyone else that you cannot control your own emotions, and thus you need everyone else to do it for you.

.??? I need better directions ! Lol

Lol, the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia). Kids went into a fantasy world when they hid in a large wardrobe, and the big lamp-post in the forest plays an important role.

Sorry Penny, lol, I have a soft spot for these books and couldn’t resist myself.

Dang that sounds kind of high to me. You’d think any local building place could order something…or you could make your own for that much! Google it!

Penny; Look on the HD or Lowes web site. Just search for outdoor lamp posts! There are tons of them listed.

Ok…so anyone know anything abut the solar lights? Do they hold up? Are they bright enough? It would be a lot easier than getting someone out there to wire it for her. Thanks EASY. Going to go check these out this week. Saw one on craigs list too…may call about it.

We do a "good will " Christmas present thing every year. Mom started it a bout 7 years ago. She bought us all something really cool from the goodwill and wrapped the box in the goodwill bag. . Started as a joke…now we compete to see who can find the best thrift store gift for each other. Seems the thrift store gifts always get opened first now…and it’s a lot of fun. Last year I found daddy a brand new pair of rubber boots…my sister a REAL Coach purse…brand new…(9.95). My brother in law a new ducks unlimited hooded sweat shirt., my mom a antique rocker and Donnie 10 pair of wool rich thermal clocks and a pair of carhart pants  …all new. Cost me less than. 65.00. And was like being n a scavenger hunt.

Have been looking for a lamp post thinking it would mean more to her if I found a old type ne and sanded and reprinted it. Last year I bought a old framed window and painted a picture of the lighthouse, daddy’s shrimp boat, the old dock, and one of his crab pots in the water along with a pelican and gull Also in it…and the dolphin too.Was like a mural of places we know there…including a bump of grass daddy and I fish. She loved it.

Sounds cheesy but isn’t that what Christmas use to be about. R eal gifts “from the heart” ? Well anyhow…we have a lot of fun with it.

Penny, I’ve got an antique gas lamp; it’s side mount though. Would it work for you mounted on a driveway post or tree?

You may be able to change the mount. Also, Donnie would need to sand and repaint it. The picture shows the finished product.

Appreciate it but need something that is electric I guess…and that stands on top of a pole… But that’s a pretty lamp for sure! …and a mighty kind offer! Call us! We need to grab a bite of lunch together somewhere…or eat a oyster or two! Love y’all!

Try Ricks Lighting, they may have what you want.

Double D.

Doesn’t sound cheesy to me penny

We have great fun with it…trying to outdo each other. Last year we added a “tacky” goodwill present too. It was hilarious!

Some years could be perfect for re-gifting:wink:
