Hey all,
Haven’t posted a whole lot here yet but hopefully that is about to change.
I moved down here from New York in november and have been casually fishing here in the surf and in canoe. Mainly only luck with whiting and sharks.
I saw a few videos of blacktiph and infinityfishingteam on youtube catching a ton of large sharks on youtube and figured with the presence of sharks here why not give it a go? Even if there is only 5-6 footers primarily inshore, I would like to get a group of 2-4 people who would like to consistently fish for sharks each week.
I live ocean side on folly, so I figure I would prefer to stay here and move up and down the beach accordingly for spots, or towards the north end, but it would be a good starting point as we would have a house to keep cold drinks/bait etc and would reduce the amount of stuff necessary to be dragged out to the fishing spot.
I have several surf rods, and just bought a penn senator 4/0, which is a little small, but would be good to start for medium size sharks that seem to be more common here. I don’t want to dish out for some of the large senators or other fancier reels until some success with more reasonable goals.
My schedule is generally like this: sat/sun off, tuesday off, and I work M, W,TH,F from 10am-8pm and goto the gym after those nights so I would be able to fish a good amount. Generally any night if I know in advance and can plan, and all day any of the days I am off. I am 26 if that matters to anyone.
If you haven’t seen these already here is an idea of what I would like to work up to:

Mainly a lot of 60-80lb blacktips, and maybe anything else that decides to show up. I don’t really know all that is out there as most videos are from TX and FL.
