On Southern Lens (ETV Channel 49.1 in the Upstate) at 09:00, is a program about the success story of the first time a saltwater breeding fish (Striper) started breeding in freshwater in South Carolina. I’ve heard about this program for a while and have been waiting for it to come on over-the-air TV. It has been on a cable channel called Documentary but I don’t know anyone who gets that channel. Apparently there are 2 versions: a long and short version- tonight’s is the 26 minute version. Better than nothing. Should be interesting and informative.
I saw this several months ago. I don’t recall which version I saw but you’re right, it was pretty interesting. In the version I saw, there was a portion about the friction between stiper fishermen and bass fishermen. It was funny to hear them making the same comments you read on these boards and hear at the meetings.
Thanks for the heads up. It’s worth watching again.

Watched the show. It was OK- kinda goofy at the beginning and end. I can see where they edited out stuff to make it shorter. I assume the longer version had more useful information. I liked the history of the hatchery program and the old photos. Even though it talked more about Santee-Cooper and Hartwell they did mention Murray a few times and Midlands Striper Club once!
