Hey ya’ll. I’ve been doin a bit of fly fishing in and around northern Mount Pleasant for largemouth bass and carp in fresh water ponds. I’ve had awesome success so far with the bass as long as it isn’t too hot, if I go at night or in the morning I’m always on fire. Recently I’ve just been using topwater flies that look like dragonflies and or horseflies. The guys at Lowcountry Fly (Ken and Scotty) suggested a fly that looked like a frog that dives and also some brim flies that looked nice. Does anyone have any experience using these types of flies for these fish? I’ve been having success, I just wanna change up the game a little bit. Any stories or experiences are welcome.
I fish a bunch of ponds for bass in mtp. Usually catch them on streamers poppers sliders… Etc. sometimes when I’m fishing a larger blue gill fly I’ll catch bass too

I’ll give you a hint. Bass will hit any color fly… as long as it’s yellow. Try all the colors under rainbow but, make sure you have a yellow one.
I was throwing that big frog made form the foam wrapped around… VERY SICK action and I have been wearing the bass out with it… That thing dives and wiggles and wiggles on the way up when you pause as well… closest thing to a crank bait I have ever thrown on a fly rod…
