Las Vegas!

Headed out to Las Vegas in two weeks. Any tips out there on what to see and do while I’m out there?
I’m going on business travel and will be in classes 8 to 12 hours a day so I won’t have much time to site see!
Staying in the Mandalay Bay Resort.

MGM Grand is a good visit. But then again all hotels are cool to see.
Ventian, Luxor, Mirage, all cool places.

Studio 54, Rain, Ghost Bar, Playboy Palms, all also really cool places. If the time is availble go to Hoover dam as well

Sunday brunch at the outside pool at Mandalay Bay has some beautiful and breathtaking sites to see.

CT- you referring to that european pool at MB? Last time I was there a “lady”-for hire was murdered and dumped in a hallway. Lots of excitement then!

Another favorite site- Pete Rose hawking old memorabilia from his kiosk on the main drag.

I’m taking the wife in January to Bette Midler’s final show week.

BC - all the Cirque du Soleil shows are incredible - pricey but awesome. Just exploring all the hotels is cool. The NY, NY roller coaster is okay - the one at Nascar is fast and better. There is an exotic car dealership inside Caesar’s - get to look at some awesome machines that none of us could ever afford. Fountains at Bellagio are cool to see and free. Best city on earth - sure you’ll have fun.

Just came back last night. Stayed at the Wynn for $129 weekdays and sunday, $199 friday and saturday. Seems cheap to me.

The Mandalay Bay does have the european pool, but it’s way down at the end of the strip. I’ve stayed there twice before-I just didn’t like the distance, or having to take the tram.

Cirque du soliel- we saw “O” at Bellagio. It’s the only water-based show and perhaps the most dramatic.

Saw Bette Midler and guest Pink at The Coliseum (Caeser’s Palace). Beyonce just signed a 3-year/$300,000,000 contract at the Wynn but I don’t know when it starts.

The Ferrari/Maserati has a few cars and they charge $10 just to see them. It’s free if you’re a Ferrari owner so be sure to bring your proof-of-ownership.

I like the new City Center and Aria. At least go tour around over there. You can take a tram there from Bellagio.

Day trips to Red Rock or Hoover Dam are fun.

Of course there’s the Museum of Human Sexuality, off strip kinda behind the Trump Casino.

It’s still a recession out there, so call around and you should be able to have a great time for not too much cash. All the casino restaurants can be steep though.

Bet with the dealer on Baccarat!

Have fun…that’s why they built it ( and to take away as much of your $$$$ as possible).

At the homebuilders show were ya Stick? Are you in the lumber biz?

No I didn’t see the Homebuilders. A huge gunshow was starting up supposedly - at least that’s why the cabbie said it seemed more crowded Sat and Sun. I was at IRUS… yea no one cares…

Ah yes, the International Robotic Urology Symposium…riveting.
