Long Enuff and I set out early on his Pioneer with hopes of catching some b-liners before sunrise, then some high speed trolling for some wahoo, then finish up with some more bottom bumping for some tasty triggers. Well, we did decent on the bottom, but not a strike on the troll.
We anchored up in a little over 100’ and had our limits of b-liners in no time. After that we ran out to 180’ and put out our lures in no time. We trolled as deep as 300’ zig zagging with no luck. We then headed back to another spot in just under 150’. Got on the triggers pretty good. Long Enuff caught a really nice scamp on one of our tiny hooked trigger rigs. Hated to let it go!
It was a great day out on the big pond!
We even had a slight breeze to keep the gnats at bay!
I must say that if anyone is looking for a boat in this length(22’)/class, Pioneer makes one awesome boat! It handled that nasty slop on the way in really well. Of course, we got wet, but that happens in any comparable CC under those conditions.
Totals:
5 bsb
10 vermillion
36 triggers
Edit
Just noticed that Long Enuff posted a report as I was making my report.
I guess that Got2Go will be extra happy…
