Went 3 times the last week in a half and it’s been fun! Have not been able to find them on the falts like everyone else, but have been having realy good luck locating 10 to 20+ fish schools around docks.
Wed we even came up on a dock were my buddy thought he saw a swirl and all of the sudden there were mud clouds everywere and at least 20 slot and up reds were scattering in 2ft or less of water. I got a really good look at one of them that was at least 33". Really exciting to see just wish we would have been a little more stealth pulling up. WE know next time though.
They have been really picky about which tides they bite on seems like the last 2hrs of outgoing and first 2hrs of incomming has been the ticket. When we spooked the big school that was slack tide so they are there through the changeover.
Fishing around docks takes alot of patience
though, like I said in previous posts breaking off 3 or 4 of every 5 we hook up with. Would like to be landing more but there is something addictive about battling them in close quarters like that, that keeps it fun. Intresting enough also is that the sizes have still been a mixed bag. Landed 15" all the way to 28" and broke one off Wed that was at least 30" plus.
Sorry for the pics, they dont cooperate always when I send them from diff sources, its getting very frustrating
(**() you RB, I even tried to be stealth in my postings! Found that other dock in the river before this one and it was loaded. All +sizes. Finishing our new club house at lease the next week or so then we need to get together!
I know that spot as well, can tell by the walkway on the dock. Always a good many fish there. Glad you got on em. I wouldnt worry about blurring the background out, but then again i guess that is the thing to do nowadays, never really understood that, but to each his own. No matter what you do to hide a spot, at some point in time someone is going to come across it or someone already knows about it, the fish are always gonna be there or they are gonna be where they want to be.
I hear ya, I wouldnt care but it was strongly reccomended by a friend for those who might venture in and start keeping 2 or 3 each trip. It did feel kinda gay when I was doing it, haha, I think it takes alot away from the overall pic when you screw up the back ground. I recognize peoples spots all the time and think hey Il go try there but I never do and always just stick to what I know.
Smart to hide the backgrounds if there’s a landmark. Next trip out, there will be people in your spot…I see people in that spot above alot. It does hold good fish at times, but one thing I’ve learned about Charleston, there’s no shortage of redfish honeyholes!
I see people there sometimes during the warmer months, but this time of year, with my work schedule I am able to get out there on weekdays in the a.m. and I usually wont even see anyone at the landing much less between morris island and kiawah. I love it!
