We were getting ready for our oyster roast and had a couple of hours to kill so ran to lake trolling for stripers, ended with three nice largemouths! zero on the strippers that day, (Caught 8 on 12/29 in about 15-25 foot of water, birds all over but didn’t see any schooling fish, Lots of bait in 35-45 foot of water, bait showing about 18-30’ on finder. Bad wind that evening!) Very happy we went!!!

Nice catch! Keep it up. Let us know about the stripers!
Nice fish!!
Were you trolling at the base of the rocks, or further out?
Caught 2 about 25 yds out from rocks(15-17’) went today see post caught 3 and lost 4 more(all bass) in hawg swamp area.
Y’all are doing good. Just curious, are you fishing the same depth in Hog Swamp? Be nice to know if that depth range is working throughout the lake, that could mean crappie are sitting at the same depth.
Wonder if you not catching stripers on that side of the lake means they’re moving towards the canal?
Yes I’m using the rapalas/rebels that run about 15" lost a couple on stumps. Working the main channel(12-25’) that is closer to the islands along hatchery. Marked some schools of fish and a few bait balls. The biggest groups of bait are still deep (40-50’of water)I think when the cold weather stuns the bait the fish will turn on. This weekend and next week could to awesome!
